Hi! Figured I'd drop in to catch you all up about what I've been up to for the past, uh, few months haha. I wasn't imagining I'd be on hiatus this long when I put that status up honestly! I also have been having some art/story stuff I'd like to bring up, so I'll get into that later in this.
So for a while I actually didn't have much time to do art, and had a lot of things going on in a lot ways, which was how the rest of 2019 and the start of this year went. Then the school semester started up, and I had to adjust my schedule/routine for other life changes too, which has left me with less time than before, but more time than I did during the holidays. At this point it would be a bit more accurate that I'm taking a break from the scheduling I had set up for this site, though a bit for art too.
That isn't to say that I haven't been doing any art at all, though I haven't done much more than sketching. I'd put some stuff up if it were a bit more complete, but I've been getting into a story of mine that I haven't mentioned on here before, which is what all of it essentially consists of. The story doesn't involve dragons though, so I'm certain that if I put stuff up here it wouldn't interest many of my watchers since that's what everyone is here for. That being said, I do intend to put up concept art and character art once I make some that's presentable, but that isn't my priority right now so it wouldn't be happening soon. I've been using this story as a chance to practice skills that I hadn't gotten to with NoH because of how many obstacles and standards I set up in my way for that story. I have pretty little experience with the actual writing part of stories, so working on this new story is letting me figure stuff out in a space that is open and fresh. I still have every intention of continuing NoH, its far too important to me to desert- but for the moment I want to wait on it until I have the experience to pull it off to my own standards.
As a note unrelated to that, I may pop in to drop off random fan art at some point. I'm in a strange spot artistically, so if fan art helps me get a better feel for it again, than fan art I shall do. Hopefully some of you guys like the Netflix reboot of She-ra haha.

As I mentioned in my last journal, I recently passed 200 watchers! To celebrate, I'll be opening character asks for my NoH crew (the kids I draw when I'm not making gifts, heh). I'll attach a picture with all of their faces and current names at the bottom of the journal for those who don't know them all. Anyways, there's a couple rules, so I'll post those below for convenience, and below that I'll tag a few people who I know will be interested! Also below I'll drop a couple Example questions if that helps.

My NoH Dragons-
As I mentioned in my last journal, I recently passed 200 watchers! To celebrate, I'll be opening character asks for my NoH crew (the kids I draw when I'm not making gifts, heh). I'll attach a picture with all of their faces and current names at the bottom of the journal for those who don't know them all. Anyways, there's a couple rules, so I'll post those below for convenience, and below that I'll tag a few people who I know will be interested! Also below I'll drop a couple Example questions if that helps.
- These won't break the fourth wall (it breaks immersion to me)
- These are only for my NoH kids- if you don't see them at the bottom, they aren't an askable character
- Answers will be in either simple pictures or one page comics, depending on the complexity of the answer
- Questions can be in general or directed at a particular character, whatever works
- They all are kids, so nothing inappropriate! COUGH, Rurik COUGH
- If a question makes me uncomfortable or is a spoiler, I won't answer it

A New Year

2018 was something, for sure- though it wasn't that bad to me. I found a lot of good stuff in the last year, and it's surprising that the last half of it whizzed by so fast. I might have finally figured out what I'm going for as far as careers go, which is exciting, and if that doesn't work out it'll be a valuable skill. Still need to watch a thousand or so shows of interest, so not much progress there, but that's probably one of the better areas to fall behind in. Artistically it has been a huge success, I'm excited about how my sense of lighting and anatomy are developing! Here's the first piece from last year and the first piece of this year (exactly a year apart actually) for comparison:

Also, I reached 200 watchers, literally double of what I had this time last year, so I'm feeling pretty accomplished about that! Thank you everyone who's dropped by and stayed to see what I make, its motivating to know I have so many people who enjoy my work 
I'm gonna open asks again to celebrate, since I had a lot of fun with them last time, but not yet- I still have a few more gifts to put up, and I would want to start the asks right away~ Let me know if that would interest you all!
Anyways, I suppose I'll put up some resolutions as well, since its a new year thing.

New Years Wish List

2018 went fast, wow. Sorta crazy that it's November already, but I guess that means it's time for a new wishlist, even if it's pretty much the same, haha. If anyone doesn't wish to remain tagged, just let me know and I'll remove you! Also, I by no means expect anyone I tag to make me stuff, it just means I like your art and if you did I'd be thrilled~ And if you aren't on the list but want to make me something, it would be an unexpected but happy surprise 
Anyways, I'm only really interested in art of my characters, specifically those from my unstarted comic, Nest of Hearts. I have a bunch of characters to pick from, so if you don't mind looking through them, hopefully one of them will catch your interests- I'll put a little info about them here too for convenience. Whatever you decide to do, I hope your year ends well and thanks for your time!

Characters
In order of age, there are 16 of them so heads up.
Looking back at this I look like a rookie salesperson lol
Khat
She's the oldest of the kids, barely the physical equivalent of a teenager (but older than a human one would be, she has more mental maturity). If you like to draw action, stripes, or red dragons, She's a good choice.
Bogū
(animation is better for color selection, but won't load on phones. The comic has more accurate anatomy.) He's quiet and mellow, enjoying casual exploration and babysitting younger members of the group.
Azurite Smoulder
(Brown, orange spots have been removed since) An ambitious entrepreneur with a drive to stay busy. She has a silver tongue if she has something to gain from a person or situation but no tolerance for what she thinks is useless, resulting in a irritable demeanor. Sister to Darion, whom she is physically similar to but hates.
Darion
Optimistic and reckless, he's rowdy and often lacks foresight. He likes to flirt with girls despite having no talent for it. He has no issue with his sister other than the fact that she'd be happy if he were dead. If you like shenanigans, dorks, or poor pick up lines, he's your best bet.
Afrel
Athletic and empathetic, he gets along with a lot of people and enjoys company, but also enjoys alchemy and science. . He's best friends with Darion and Lorrai, and often follows Darion's lead. Great pick for those who enjoy sunny personalities or feathers.
Pumpkin
A low energy drake who enjoys sunbathing and watching nature, though he often is dragged into Azurite's affairs. He can be snarky, but mostly is exasperated.
Lorraise
An artistic kid who bottles up when outside her comfort zone. She's an artist who enjoys investigating things, be it where a path goes or who ate her snack. She's got an unusual build and color changing portions, so she can be a lot of fun to paint.
Hyūra
She's energetic and friendly, and usually can be found with a huge smile. Often hunts for the group, she loves to eagerly help out how she can and often is found with her best friend Lorrai as well as Afrel and Darion. Perfect for those who like dancers and big smiles.
Fate
(Digital is color accurate) The shyest of the kids, she's a sea dreki with a love for animals and reading. She won't engage with strangers if it can be avoided and is easy to fluster. She works well with those who like to draw swimming or shy dragons.
Gimrur
(ref removed)
One of the loners of the group. He seldomly interacts with the others, preferring to fend for himself. He avoids fights and conversations.
Bēah
Can and probably already has tired to fight you, she's the other loner. She's a competent hunter for her age but steals food to cover when she doesn't quite catch enough. The young wyvern will fight you for any perceived reason, and when she can't think of one resorts to excessive hissing.
Temek/Jisesod

He's got a confusing condition where he has three bodies, but is one person (which is why he has multiple names)(keeping track of nick names is a nightmare). Loves birds and swimming, he can be hesitant.
Vaquor
Small and cheerful, he has a strong pranking streak that he often acts upon. Is too young to fly.
Zruimec
(ref removed)
He doesn't outwardly show much emotion, which can have an unnerving affect. Stares a lot and is quite young.
Kihai
(ref removed)
A lindorm with a tendacy to end up in unlikely places. She likes to talk and babble, will curl around those she likes.
Almond
(White scales) Youngest and smallest of the group, this child is slow to like people. Of the older kids he only really likes Khat and Bogū, but is fond of Kihai and Zruimec as well. Sleeps a lot.

Computer is Out

I was studying the other day when I noticed my laptop wasn’t connecting to the internet like it should, and from there I noticed it wasn’t charging like it should either. I tried several things to fix it, then had a friend of mine who’s better with tec than I am look at it, but it seems the battery is refusing to charge, which I’m sure is due to its age. Thankfully I saved all my files onto a storage device a friend had given me for my last birthday, so I still have all my work and progress for when I get a laptop to access it again. Seeing how the battery isn’t removable, my best option is to look for a new laptop. I’m not sure how long this is going to take, it’ll be my first time buying one on my own. If any of you have recommendations, I’d be grateful to hear them- I’m looking for something small and with good visuals (since art is most of what I do), I don’t mind if it’s a bit slow so long as it loads websites at reasonable speed since homework is another thing I’ll use it for.
Anyways, I won’t be making any new digital art for a while obviously, though I do have several pieces already finished and waiting to be put up, including the rest of the Fire series and some extra. I’m sorry for anyone who was hoping to include me in their wishlists (or the one who already did), this will probably result in me sitting it out this year- if you want to tag me though, still feel free, I may make some traditional gifts and it’s flattering.
As a last note, if the new laptop costs too much, I may open traditional commissions to help cover the price. I don’t know how much interest there will be in that, but now you know.
